GPs, GP trainees and practice nurses can sign up for this RCGP course which introduces the basics of clinically-led commissioning: what healthcare commissioning involves, their role, and the benefits of involving clinicians and patients. The course explains the processes used in commissioning and some of the commonly used terminology. (1hr)

This free online course enables GPs and their teams to help patients navigate effectively through the healthcare system, to improve referrals quality and reduce delays in treatment. (2hrs)

Individual Commissioning Competencies Handbook (London Health Programmes)
A standard framework that maps the skills and knowledge required against each stage of the commissioning cycle and enables commissioners to assess their current skill level and determine the development needs for the next stage in their career. The handbook can be accessed online. A self-assessment tool is also available to be used in conjunction with the content in the handbook.
The Commissioning Place – e-learning in Collaborative Clinical Commissioning (Subscription required)
This e-Learning programme has been developed in partnership by London South Bank University (LSBU), Brickwall Heath and KSS Deanery and has been designed to give clinicians and the wider commissioning team an introduction to the concepts and processes involved in collaborative clinical commissioning.
