Need to know?

NHS library and knowledge services (LKS) offer commissioners a unique service to commissioners that complements and builds on the work of other commissioning support organisations.    Through us, you can be confident that your commissioning decisions are based on the most robust evidence from research and best practice.

The Ask for Evidence service brings together for the first time expertise in commissioning, evidence searches and health intelligence in an easy-to-access online format.

You can put questions on any commissioning topics, such as  clinical services,  needs assessments, public health, impact analyses, service redesign and your request will be routed to the appropriate knowledge specialist.

Ben Skinner, Head of LKS at Brighton and Sussex University NHS Hospitals Trust, said: “To make the best decisions commissioners need to know what models and interventions have been proven to work and how they have been adopted elsewhere. This pilot is a first step in that direction.”
